Research
My research is mostly focused on child and adolescent eating disorders and gender diversity.
Within eating disorders, this is mostly focused on developing and adapting treatments for young people and their families when things feel stuck or are not progressing in first-line treatments. This has included designing and evaluating novel treatment programmes such as multi-family therapy, adapting Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for adolescents, and integrating Attachment-Based Family Therapy for adolescents with eating disorders. My most recent research has focused on investigating change processes within our current treatments – trying to better understand how they work and for whom - not just whether they do or not.
Within gender, my research is focused on better understanding the needs of gender diverse young people and their support networks.
